APP Surveyors

Apprenticeship Success Story

At Align, we are committed to giving back to local communities and a strong focus on nurturing the next generation. Our dedication to training and apprenticeship is at the core of our business.

Currently, we are proud to have more than 21 students embarking on their journeys towards becoming skilled professionals through our robust Apprenticeship Programme. Each year, we welcome young talents from local schools and colleges, providing them with the opportunity to pursue their chosen professional discipline to a minimum of a degree level. Our apprenticeship programme is a source of immense pride for us, not only for the opportunity it offers to local communities but also for the exceptional results our apprentices achieve.

Two shining examples from our programme are Kelsey Collins and Ellie Garside, who embarked on their journey with us with little prior knowledge but have since achieved outstanding results. Both Kelsey and Ellie have earned the prestigious titles of top performers of the year, each receiving a well-deserved £100 award.

Kelsey and Ellie, both aspiring Apprentice Surveyors, are currently working toward their ultimate goals of becoming Chartered Surveyors. Their journey includes a four-and-a-half year course in Real Estate Management, culminating in Chartered Status.

Ellie shares her experience, stating, “Despite the degree being 100% online, we have a range of support from lecturers and other key staff. Everyone at Align is extremely supportive both for work and for our studies; I work closely with senior members of staff and they are always on hand to help me and answer any questions I have. I feel like I gain a lot from the high level of experience from the Estates team, as well as other disciplines, such as sitting down with the Building Surveying department during our Construction Technology module which helped me massively! I feel I am offered a lot of support through being involved in a range of projects that allow me to gain valuable on-hand experience.”

Kelsey adds: “The apprenticeship caught my attention due to the financial side of the course and work. My degree is fully funded by the company and I am also paid to work full-time on a very generous salary which increases each year, on the basis of appraisals and behavior. I am 20 years old and being able to work alongside doing my degree, I am gaining many skills a surveyor will need to do when fully qualified, which suggests the amount of knowledge and experience I will have gained by the end of the course, will allow me to excel further in my career and potentially grow my CV both with academic achievements and practical work experience.”

Chris Black, Technical Director of Commercial Agency, Investment & Property Management at Align said: ‘Our investment in apprenticeships isn’t just about providing opportunities; it’s about ensuring that our team is well-equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to excel. We take pride in being a part of their journey towards enhanced career, continued education and richer, more fulfilled working lives. Both, Kelsey and Ellie are very hard-working and their accolades are truly well-deserved!’

At Align, we are committed to education, career growth, and an inclusive, supportive work culture.
